History of Initiatives Health Care

Initiatives Healthcare business model was launched in 1997 when research efforts began to create EB2MD (Evidenced Based Medicine and Management Design) resulting in the now-patented Healthcare Demand Forecaster, a statistical model that geographically identifies markets where the highest unmet healthcare demand is located. When used together, these two systems provide the key information for locating, designing and operating hospitals.

From 1999-2004 the University of Utah Orthopaedic Center Hospital project was built, resulting in “proof of concept” for the EB2MD system. This flagship enterprise has been a model healthcare delivery system. Following the University Orthopaedic Centers success, from 2004 to 2009, UCSF Orthopaedic Center project becomes another case study on the EB2MD process.

The University of Missouri project, (1997-2010) which will open the second quarter of 2010, is another case study in proof of concept of the EB2MD process.

During the past decade, the Initiatives Executive team has been very active in the healthcare consulting business and continues to hold a variety of leadership positions in prestigious organizations. Their work for various hospital corporations (for profit and non-profit), respected Universities, Federal Governments (including the foreign governments of Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Germany), Peace Corps, VA, Center for Disease Control, and USAID (a government agency that provides humanitarian aid worldwide) positions them to continue to carry out the mission of providing the best healthcare to everyone, especially in areas where healthcare is critically needed.
